Bmi Regional "UK"s most punctual scheduled airline" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Bmi Regional was the most punctual provider of scheduled flights from UK airports for the sixth consecutive year in 2010, according to the latest figures.

Publishing its findings for the year, which are based on statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority, flightontime.info revealed that bmi Regional had an average delay of 7.1 minutes and completed 89.7% of its departures within 15 minutes of their planned time.

Eastern Airways was named the second most punctual scheduled airline, with an average delay of 8.3 minutes, while major carriers including KLM, SAS, Air Berlin and bmi made it into the top ten.

Flightontime.info also surveyed the operations of low-cost airlines and found that Flybe had the best on-time performance, while bmibaby, easyJet and Monarch Scheduled all featured in the top five.

Statistics from the site show that routes to Amsterdam were the busiest from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City airports last year, with a total of 27,428 flights, followed by routes to Dublin (27,335) and Edinburgh (27,198).
