Continental to offer inflight Wi-Fi by Cheap Flights Booker UK
United Continental Holdings has announced that its fully owned subsidiary Continental Airlines is set to begin offering inflight Wi-Fi next year.
The carrier has signed a letter of intent with inflight entertainment provider LiveTV to provide internet access via Ka-band.
Current plans are to offer the service on more than 200 domestic Boeing 737 and 757 aircraft, meaning passengers catching flights within the US with Continental will be able to view content-rich websites, access email accounts and download files.
More than 95 channels of live television programming will also be available on the airline"s planes.
Continental"s partner United Airlines currently offers inflight Wi-Fi on 14 aircraft operating services including flights to Los Angeles and San Francisco from New York.
In a statement confirming the forthcoming Wi-Fi offering, United Continental Holdings said: "The planned expansion of inflight Wi-Fi services underscores the company"s commitment to providing unique options that enable customers to customise their travel experience.
"The company continues to reconfigure United and Continental aircraft with new flat-bed seats in premium cabins - with the new flat-bed product already on 116 aircraft in the combined fleet, more than any other US-based carrier."
It also confirmed plans to begin installing Economy Plus seats on Continental planes in 2012.
