Flybe reports record sales for Dublin flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Flybe has announced record sales for additional flights to Dublin that were arranged to carry rugby fans to the Irish capital for the Six Nations match between England and Ireland this Saturday (19 March).
The airline will operate a total of 26 services between Southampton and Dublin over the course of the weekend.
On several flights, 118-seat Embraer 195 jets will be used in place of the usual 78-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft, while an additional return journey from Ireland has been scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
Mike Rutter, Flybe"s chief commercial officer, said: "When the Six Nations fixture list was published, we knew that there would be increased demand on our Southampton to Dublin route in particular and we acted swiftly in order to fulfil this need.
"The sales that we have seen in the run-up to the game have clearly vindicated this move and highlight Flybe"s ongoing commitment to keeping Britain"s sports fans on the move."
England will face Ireland at the new Aviva Stadium on Saturday knowing that a win will secure them a Grand Slam victory in the 2011 Six Nations series.
The other two games on the final day of the competition will see Scotland play Italy in Edinburgh and France host Wales in Paris.
