Luton Airport Experiences Further Growth
Luton airport experiences further growth by Cheap Flights Booker UK
London Luton airport has announced that it experienced another increase in passenger numbers in February, marking its second consecutive month of growth for 2011.
The rising traffic recorded so far this year follows on from the airport"s strong performance in 2010, when it handled almost 9m travellers.
Glyn Jones, Luton"s managing director, said new flights and extra capacity are being added to meet demand from the public.
"We believe that continued growth in passenger numbers demonstrates our route network and excellent transport links remain attractive to leisure and business travellers alike," he commented.
"New routes on sale and extra capacity from our airlines ensure we are meeting extra demand."
The airport is served by several major carriers, including easyJet, Aer Arann and Flybe, which operate services to more than 90 destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia.
Monarch Airlines recently announced that it would be making more seats available this summer on flights from Luton to popular holiday destinations in Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Turkey.
