Nature Lovers Encouraged To Explore Iceland
Nature lovers encouraged to explore Iceland by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Nature lovers planning a trip to Iceland have been encouraged to explore the country to take advantage of its diverse experiences.
Sigga Groa, UK and Ireland area manager for Visit Iceland, recommended starting a trip in Reykjavik, which serves as the base for numerous tours and activities.
Ms Groa highlighted adventurous and unusual options such as horse riding through lava fields, diving in the Silfra fissure, going on 4x4 drives and seeing the Gulfoss waterfall.
"Nature lovers can also visit the Snaefellsnes peninsula, which has white and black volcanic beaches, bird cliffs, spectacular mountains and volcanic craters, rich trout lakes and salmon rivers and lush valleys," she added.
"Of course, a visit to the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, which is about 40 minutes outside of Reykjavik, cannot be missed."
Direct flights to Reykjavik are available from the UK with Icelandair.
Recent figures from Visit Iceland show that the number of British visitors to the country in February 2011 was 15% higher than in the same month last year.
