Best ever day for punctuality at Heathrow by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Heathrow airport has announced that Tuesday 22 March was its best ever day for punctuality, with 94% of its flights departing on time.

Furthermore, 93.9% of incoming services arrived no later than 15 minutes after their scheduled time.

March was the second best month on record for on-time performance at Heathrow, with 85.1% of all flights departing punctually.

The airport pointed out that capacity constraints mean its operations can be affected by "the slightest thing", such as strong winds or fog.

Chief operating officer Nick Cullen said the punctuality statistics highlight Heathrow"s potential to offer an efficient service when it is not affected by unforeseen events.

"This shows that when we"re not suffering from things beyond our control, like bad weather or strikes, we can run a smooth operation and get people away on time," he said.

"Although we still need to improve, these stats demonstrate that the commitment of Heathrow"s 77,000 staff is starting to pay off with some real improvements."
