Croatia Airlines route to open up Kvarner by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Kvarner region of Croatia will become more accessible to Britons this month following the resumption of a service operated by the country"s national carrier.

Croatia Airlines will offer weekly flights from London Heathrow to Rijeka, Kvarner"s main city, from 20 April.

Located west of Zagreb with a border on the Istria peninsula, Kvarner offers a range of experiences and attractions recommended by the national tourist board, including a "thriving" jazz scene.

Travellers can head to the port town of Opatija to learn more about its cultural heritage and links with figures such as Giacomo Puccini and Anton Chekhov, while the nearby villages of Volosko and Lovran can be visited following a walk along the coast.

One activity that holidaymakers should not miss out on, according to the Croatian National Tourist Board, is taking a ferry from Rijeka or Opatija to do some island hopping.

The isles of Krk, Cres, Rab and Losinj are all located off the coast of Kvarner, boasting sights and attractions including forests, caves and wineries.
