New investment to improve Belize tourist destination by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers visiting Belize will soon see the benefit of new investment in Ambergris Caye, which is receiving a number of new amenities to boost its appeal as a tourist destination.
The Central America Tourism Agency revealed that the local government is investing $6.5m (£4m) in the area.
New developments include a 2km seafront promenade, a dock and a water taxi terminal, which will provide new options for holidaymakers exploring the area.
Investment is also taking place at Tocumen airport in the Central American country of Panama, with some $850m set to be spent over the next five years to expand the capacity of the base in order to accommodate the Airbus A380.
The second phase of the airport"s growth plan - focusing on increasing the number of boarding gates from 22 to 34 - is currently underway and due to be completed by September.
During the third phase, to be completed next year, up to $350m will be invested to create new air bridges, allowing Tocumen to double its number of hourly operations to 63.
