Spain "cheapest of Europe"s holiday hotspots" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Spain has been ranked first in a list of the most affordable holiday hotspots in Europe and other popular regions.

Post Office Travel Money surveyed the cost of a selection of ten tourist products in different countries and found that Spain emerged as the cheapest option, followed by Bulgaria, Portugal, Greece and Dubai.

Both Greece and Turkey will offer better value for money for UK visitors this year, with bars, restaurants and other businesses cutting prices in order to attract more travellers.

The report also revealed that the pound should stretch further in the US, Dubai and Egypt this summer.

Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Money, said: "This year"s barometer shows that prices are pretty competitive in the top European holiday destinations even though sterling remains unpredictable.

"While Spain is undoubtedly best value overall, the healthy price fall in Greece means that this traditional favourite can once again be considered a good bet for wallet-watching holidaymakers."
