Dubai International airport handled some 4.2m passengers in March - 5.8% more than in the same month last year, according to new figures.
The Dubai Airports group revealed that aircraft movements are also on the increase, climbing 6.3% year-on-year to 27,674 last month.
During the first quarter of the year, passenger numbers at the base reached 12.3m, up 7% from the 11.5m recorded in the first three months of 2010.
Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports, said: "Passenger traffic growth continues to be robust. At the current levels we are on track to exceed 50m passengers this year."
The international hub is the fourth-busiest airport in the world in terms of international passenger traffic volumes, with travellers flying in from more than 220 destinations across six continents.
