British gallery bringing "art and controversy" to Adelaide by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The South Australia Tourism Commission has announced that the Saatchi Gallery will bring "art and controversy" to Adelaide this year.

A $1m (£652,000) exhibition entitled Saatchi Gallery in Adelaide: British Art Now will come to the city from 29 July to 23 October 2011.

The display will present a wide range of work by some of the most innovative, influential and contentious artists to come out of the UK in recent times, with Tracey Emin"s controversial installation My Bed among the pieces in the show.

Approximately 150 sculptures, photographs, paintings, prints and other works by more than 40 artists will be presented at the Art Gallery of South Australia.

The exhibition will take up nearly three-quarters of the available space at the venue and will be the largest presentation of British contemporary art in Australia for more than a decade.

According to the South Australia Tourism Commission, the display "promises to be both cutting-edge and challenging, offering visitors to Adelaide a truly unique art experience".
