EasyJet launches flights to Izmir by Cheap Flights Booker UK

EasyJet has introduced a route linking London Gatwick to Izmir, a popular holiday destination on Turkey"s Aegean coast.

Launched on Saturday (14 May), the flights will operate twice a week on Saturdays and Tuesdays.

The low-cost airline now operates services to a total of 92 destinations from Gatwick, with five new routes being introduced this year.

Izmir is described by the carrier as a "vibrant" destination, with picturesque mountainous surroundings and a range of museums and archaeological sites that provide an insight into its history.

Paul Simmons, easyJet"s UK director, said: "Turkey is a popular holiday destination for … year-round sun-seekers.

"By adding Izmir to our ever-expanding network of routes, we"re making it even more accessible to passengers. As one of the most popular tourist cities in the country, it is a perfect holiday choice."

Mr Simmons went on to state that the airline will soon be launching flights from London Gatwick to Verona and Catania in Italy and the Scottish city of Aberdeen.
