Emirates Pushing Boundaries Of Aviation
Emirates "pushing boundaries of aviation" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Emirates has announced record profits for the 2010-11 financial year and claimed that its success is a result of its determination to "push the boundaries of aviation".
The airline experienced its 23rd consecutive year of profit, with record net earnings of 5.9bn dirhams (£982m).
Overall revenue increased by 26.4% to hit a new high of 57.4bn dirhams, despite a range of business challenges and the difficulties posed by recent unrest in the Middle East.
The Dubai-based airline claimed that its "superior network and world-class product" helped it make the most of strong demand for flights in the first six months of the financial year.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates, said: "This year"s record results represent our drive to push the boundaries of aviation, questioning the norms and advocating … open and fair competition.
"Despite unforeseen challenges in the form of political instability and shocking natural disasters we have managed, through sheer determination, nimbleness and quick thinking, to produce our best ever result."
The carrier currently operates Airbus A380 flights to Dubai from London Heathrow and Manchester, and recently launched the world"s largest passenger aircraft from Shanghai.
