Famous jazz festival returning this summer by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A jazz festival that is thought to be the longest-running event of its kind in Europe will return to southern France this summer.
Music fans will be heading to the Cote d"Azur town of Juan-les-Pins in Antibes for Jazz a Juan, which will take place at the Pinede Gould venue from 14 to 24 July.
Returning for its 51st year in 2011, this famous outdoor event has previously played host to legendary musicians like Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and Charles Mingus, as well as contemporary figures such as Norah Jones and Kyle Eastwood.
This summer, the French Riviera will provide the backdrop for performances by the likes of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Marcus Miller on 15 July.
James Hunter and BB King will be playing on 17 July, while Carlos Santana (19 July), Jamie Cullum (20 July) and Gilberto Gil (22 July) will also be entertaining the crowds in Juan-les-Pins.
In addition to the live shows, Jazz a Juan 2011 will feature a series of exhibitions, film screenings and other special events to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Miles Davis, who regularly played at the festival between 1963 and 1984.
