Lufthansa simplifies baggage policies by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Lufthansa has announced changes to its baggage allowance policies with the aim of providing simpler rules with greater clarity.

The airline is introducing the "piece concept" on all of its flights, meaning passengers are allowed to check in a certain number of baggage items free of charge, depending on their travel class.

Economy travellers can take one piece of luggage weighing up to 23kg, while business and first class customers can check in one and two bags respectively, weighing up to 32kg each.

Members of the Miles & More scheme can check in extra items without charge, depending on their status.

For children under two years of age without their own seat, the free baggage allowance remains the same: one collapsible pushchair and one bag weighing a maximum of 23kg.

The new concept, which will apply to all tickets purchased after 1 June 2011, is being extended to Lufthansa"s entire network following its successful implementation on many of the airline"s long-haul flights.
