New Gatwick car park "to benefit passengers" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The passenger experience at London Gatwick is expected to improve as a result of a new car park at the airport.

Located near the north terminal"s check-in area, the short-stay car park has the capacity to hold 1,177 passenger vehicles across six floors.

The new development means that the total number of parking spaces available at Gatwick has increased to 32,600.

Raymond Melee, director of capital projects at Gatwick, said the direct links to the terminal and the new forecourt area mean the car park offers passengers "the ultimate in terms of convenience".

"In addition, we have installed an electronic floor-by-floor car monitoring system to enable visitors to easily select an empty parking space," he added. "This is a great feature for those time-strapped passengers."

The recent project is one of many being pursued by Gatwick"s operators with the aim of boosting passenger numbers to approximately 40m a year by the end of the decade and turning the base into London"s "airport of choice".
