New Star Wars attraction at Disneyland Resort by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Families visiting America this summer could have the chance to experience a new Star Wars-themed attraction at the Disneyland Resort in California.

Due to open on 3 June 2011, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue will use 3D digital video technology, a musical score and motion simulator-based effects to take guests on a journey through the Star Wars universe.

The attraction has been designed to provide more than 50 story combinations, offering visitors a range of different experiences in environments such as the ice planet of Hoth, the jungles of Kashyyyk and the underwater world of the Gungans on the planet Naboo.

Adventurers will also encounter a range of famous characters from the movies, including Yoda, Boba Fett and Darth Vader himself.

Commenting on the new attraction, Walt Disney chief executive Bob Iger said: "Star Tours immerses guests into the Star Wars universe like never before.

"The innovative technology and storytelling take guests on thrilling new adventures, bringing George Lucas" iconic characters and locations to life in a completely new way."

A series of Star Wars-themed weekends are also on offer at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando this year and will run until 12 June.
