New campaign invites families to Florida by Cheap Flights Booker UK

An online marketing campaign has been launched with the aim of promoting family holidays in Florida.

Visit Florida announced that the Sunshine Moments initiative will communicate with the family market through major social media platforms and sites such as Facebook, Yahoo and AOL.

The five-week promotion represents an investment of about $1.1m (£674,000) and is expected to result in more than 315m online impressions.

Chris Thompson, president and chief executive of Visit Florida, said: "This is a digital campaign that is 100% focused on tapping into generations" worth of Florida family vacations to remind travellers that Florida is the number one family summer vacation destination in the world.

"Our goal is to keep Florida a top-of-mind destination for millions of people deciding where to spend their summer vacation this year by reaching out to them in the digital arena."

One part of the initiative invites members of the public to upload their favourite Florida holiday images to create a photo gallery on the tourist board"s Facebook page.

Visitors can vote for their favourite shots and the grand prize winner will receive a trip to the state, a Mazda CX-7 and a video camera.

It was recently announced that the Universal Orlando resort will offer a new attraction for families visiting Florida next year in the shape of the new Despicable Me ride.
