Norwegian Orders Three More Boeing Dreamliners
Norwegian orders three more Boeing Dreamliners by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Norwegian Air Shuttle has announced an agreement with Boeing to purchase three more of the manufacturer"s 787 Dreamliners.
The deal adds to the airline"s previous arrangement to buy two of the next-generation planes, bringing its total order to five.
Two of the three liners in the latest order are due to be delivered in the first half of 2013, with the other set to be added to Norwegian"s fleet in early 2015.
Boeing"s Dreamliner is an "aircraft for the future", the airline claims, with "unprecedented" passenger comfort, reduced emissions and low operating costs.
Chief executive Bjorn Kjos said: "Getting hold of an additional three Dreamliners implies that we have secured sufficient capacity for the launch of the long-haul operation.
"We will operate a fleet of at least four of the most efficient and modern long-haul aircraft already by summer 2013."
The 787 will be in competition with the Airbus A380, which is currently in operation and being used by carriers such as Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Qantas.
