Outdoor activities becoming more popular in Cyprus by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) recently teamed up with the Association of Greek Cypriot Travel Agents to organise two events in Ware and Manchester, partly to promote some of the "special-interest opportunities" on offer to people visiting the destination.

One of the speakers at the evenings was Alex Christodoulou, former assistant director of the island"s forestry department, who highlighted the fact that tourists can explore nearly 100 walking paths, covering a distance of 861km.

The routes have reportedly received praise from walkers for their high quality.

Orestis Rossides, UK director of the CTO, said: "Due to the fact that we have such wonderful walking trails and cycling routes, there has been a phenomenal increase in the special-interest sector from both the UK and other European markets."

Holidaymakers heading to Cyprus can also explore the island"s history at archaeological sites such as the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos.
