Pregnant Women Want More Advice On Flights

Pregnant women "want more advice on flights" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Pregnant women want more consistent advice regarding the safety of catching flights, according to a new survey.

The poll by Netmums and the London Ultrasound Centre found that a fifth (20%) of expectant mums are unsure whether it is safe to fly at all during pregnancy.

More than four in five (85%) women surveyed said they wanted standard guidelines on the cut-off point for travelling by air while carrying a baby.

Some airlines only allow women to fly up to 34 weeks into their pregnancy, while others are prepared to carry travellers who are up to 37 weeks into their term.

Netmums founder Siobhan Freegard said: "Mums want clear information about when it"s safe to fly.

"While every pregnancy is different, standard airline guidelines would relieve some of the stress and time spent planning a holiday, making that all-important relaxing holiday that little bit easier to come by."

The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists advises against air travel for women who are more than 37 weeks pregnant, while those who are carrying twins are advised not to fly after 34 weeks.
