Bicycle hire scheme launched in Ljubljana by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travellers looking for a fun and eco-friendly way to explore Ljubljana can now hire bicycles in the city.

The recently launched Bicikelj self-service rental system provides some 300 bikes and 600 parking points, which are available at 31 stations in the city centre 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Before using the system for the first time, visitors must register on the Bicikelj website and sign up to either a weekly or annual subscription.

The weekly option is aimed mainly at visitors and costs €1 (89p).

After registering, participants will receive a user code and personal password, allowing them to pick up a bike and embark on their exploration of the Slovenian capital.

There are many sights and attractions worth seeing in Ljubljana, such as the Tromostovje area, which comprises three bridges next to one another, and the neighbouring Preseren square.

Holidaymakers can also visit the city"s castle and ascend to the top of the tower to take in panoramic views.
