Holiday Goosebump Moments Revealed
Holiday "goosebump moments" revealed by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British travellers are "active, destination-driven [and] have a desire to learn or try something new", according to Travel Alberta, which conducted research to find the most common "goosebump moments".
More than two-thirds (69%) of Britons said that witnessing spectacular scenery or something they have always wanted to see is the activity most likely to make their hairs stand on end.
Asked about their ultimate holiday and what made it so special, nearly 60% of respondents cited the appeal of the destination and half said their experience was boosted by the fact that their partner or family also enjoyed the trip.
The survey also revealed activities that are likely to provide goosebump moments for travellers, with seeing the Northern Lights, taking a helicopter sightseeing tour, going white-water rafting and climbing a mountain at the top of the list.
Dominic Gill, an adventure traveller who completed a journey from Alaska to Argentina on a tandem bicycle, said: "I think all of us realise that holidays are now a chance to do something out of the ordinary and whilst that needs to include rest and relaxation, having an adventure, seeing something you always wanted to see or doing something you always wanted to do is also hugely significant."
He went on to recommend the Canadian province of Alberta as "one of those places where everyone, no matter your age or situation, can have their goosebump moments".
