Thai Airways to use redesigned planes on Bangkok flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Thai Airways has introduced its first redesigned Boeing 747-400 and confirmed that the plane will operate on flights from London to Bangkok later this year.

A series of improvements to the airline"s 747-400 fleet will provide passenger benefits including revamped cabins and enhanced inflight products.

Seats in all classes have been equipped with personal screens and new entertainment offerings, while a telephone system has been installed to allow travellers to stay connected while flying.

Six planes are due to be upgraded during the first phase of the project and a further six will be refitted in the second phase, which will be completed in 2012-13.

Piyasvasti Amranand, president of Thai Airways, said: "With the first retrofitted aircraft now in operation, I believe that gradually, even before the introduction of the A380 to the Thai Airways fleet, customers will benefit from our improvements."

The carrier"s Boeing 747-400s will offer 325 seats in economy and a total of 50 seats in premium cabins.
