Travel tops list of "once-in-a-lifetime experiences" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travel activities have topped a list of the most popular "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences for Britons, which was compiled following a survey of more than 2,000 people for Scottish Widows.

A quarter (26%) of respondents said their dream was to travel the world and one in ten (9%) singled out a holiday in the Caribbean as one of their aspirations.

The poll also highlighted the appeal of nature, with 11% of respondents revealing they would like to swim with dolphins and 9% harbouring an ambition to go on safari.

Nearly half (44%) of the people surveyed said unique and memorable experiences are now easier to come by than they used to be.

Roger Black MBE, Olympic medal winner and Scottish Widows ambassador for the London 2012 Games, said: "A once-in-a-lifetime experience is something to aim for and can be very motivating. It"s something that people aspire to do throughout their lives.

Of the 86% of Britons who have an ambition they want to achieve during their lifetime, 45% are willing to stretch their finances to the limit to fulfil it, according to the study.
