Virgin To Launch Flights To Cancun
Virgin to launch flights to Cancun by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Virgin Atlantic will expand its international network next summer with the launch of twice-weekly flights to Cancun from London Gatwick.
The Mexican holiday resort will be the airline"s 33rd destination and is expected to prove popular with customers, with some 94,000 people predicted to travel on the route in its first year.
Speaking in Miami, Virgin president Sir Richard Branson said Cancun has a "thriving" tourism industry, partly owing to the quality of its beaches, hotels and cultural attractions.
"We believe that we can drive demand ever higher by providing great competition to our rivals with our award-winning product and service," he added.
"Cancun is one of the top five long-haul leisure destinations for UK travellers, so we are delighted to be able to add this route to [our] network. This route launch further cements our position as the UK"s leading long-haul leisure airline."
Due to begin on 12 June 2012, the new service will strengthen Virgin Atlantic"s leisure network from London Gatwick, with flights to Barbados, Las Vegas, Jamaica, Orlando and other popular destinations in the US and the Caribbean already available from the airport.
