Cyprus visitors invited to "sizzling hot" festivals by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Cyprus Tourism Organisation has highlighted some of the "sizzling hot" summer festivals that are set to take place in various locations across the island this year.

Visitors can join in with the festivities at events such as the Limassol Wine Festival, which is held for 12 days in late August and early September.

Based at the Municipal Gardens, the celebration of local viticulture includes free tastings of wines such as Muscat and Commandaria, Cypriot food, dancing, music and more.

Culture vultures can check out the Aphrodite Festival in Paphos, which will present three days of opera under the stars near the old harbour from 2 to 4 September.

This year"s show is The Tales of Hoffmann, an operetta by Jacques Offenbach based on the short stories of German Romantic author ETA Hoffmann.

Another highlight is Kypria, Cyprus" best-known multi-arts festival, which will return in September and October this year.

In the past, the event has played host to acts such as Tap Dogs, Ute Lemper and the Martha Graham Dance Company.
