Japan A Safe Holiday Destination
Japan "a safe holiday destination" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Following the devastating tsunami that struck Japan in March, tourism officials have reassured travellers that it is safe to visit the country.
The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) said almost all of Japan is operating as normal, except for the area close to the Fukushima nuclear plants.
Indeed, the Tohoku bullet train between Tokyo and Shin-Aomori has now reopened and subways in Tokyo itself are operating under normal schedules.
Airports in Japan are also fully operational, providing both internal and external flights, while most tourist attractions and facilities are open for business as usual.
Nobutaka Ishikure, PATA foundation trustee, said four months on from the disaster, the people of Japan are "getting along with ordinary life".
"Visitors should come to Japan as before," he remarked.
Figures show that travellers are already heading back to the country, with inbound tourists totalling 358,000 in May, up from 295,000 in April.
