KLM to offer "a la carte" meals by Cheap Flights Booker UK

British travellers catching flights to Amsterdam with KLM to connect to the airline"s global network will soon be able to choose from some new culinary options during long-haul journeys.

The airline will introduce "a la carte" meals for economy passengers on intercontinental flights from 14 September.

For an additional fee, travellers will be able to choose from four menu options that will be made available alongside the airline"s standard catering.

A light Japanese meal and popular Italian food will be among the choices, along with Indonesian cuisine and an exclusive vegetarian meal.

Prices will range from €12 (£10.50) to €15.

Erik Varwijk, KLM"s managing director, said "a la carte" dining is being rolled out on intercontinental services from Amsterdam following a successful trial over the past year.

"This is a further response to growing customer demand for customised services, offering more choice and more options for customers in determining their own flight experience," he added.

"The greater range of menu options follows the introduction of a broader range of seat comfort options and a wider variety of inflight entertainment."
