Record passenger numbers for BA at London City by Cheap Flights Booker UK

British Airways has announced that it carried more than 100,000 passengers from London City airport in June, passing the milestone for the first time in a single month.

The airline"s growth at the Docklands base has involved expanding its fleet, with a new Embraer 190 aircraft recently introduced.

After being transported from Brazil, the plane operated its first commercial service on BA"s route from London City to Edinburgh.

It will be deployed on the carrier"s European routes from London City, including flights to Stockholm, Malaga and Faro.

Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager of BA CityFlyer, said: "We are delighted with the response we have had to the new aircraft fleet - our customer feedback is the highest it"s ever been in terms of comfort and service onboard the aircraft.

"The fact customers are so positive is obviously reflected in the fantastic passenger numbers we"ve had for June."

London City airport is also served by KLM, Lufthansa, Aer Arann, Swiss and other carriers.
