Bradt Urges Nigeria Visitors To See Lagos
Bradt urges Nigeria visitors to see Lagos by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A visit to Lagos is "essential" for travellers who want to "fully understand" Nigeria, according to guide publisher Bradt.
Lizzie Williams, author of the company"s guide to the African country, said that the "chaos and vibrancy" of Lagos "has to be seen to be believed", although she also noted that the congestion and signs of poverty could be overwhelming for some.
Visitors will find good facilities in the destination, including shops, restaurants and hotels.
Ms Williams also encouraged travellers to see other Nigerian cities for a first-hand experience of the country"s diversity.
"For example, Abuja is a purpose-built bureaucratic city in the middle of the country and has no particular allegiance to any ethnic group and is much more staid in comparison to Lagos," she commented.
"The Hausa cities in the north are different again, simply because they are predominantly Muslim and conservatively so, and even the architecture differs simply because of the history and the climate."
Excursions available to people visiting Lagos include a trip to Tarkwa Bay, which can be reached by boat and provides amenities for sunbathing and swimming.
