The Whistler Blackcomb ski resort in British Columbia, Canada has revealed that it is expecting "another epic season" during winter 2011-12.
Meteorologists are once again predicting that the La Nina weather pattern will hit the region later this year, providing consistent heavy precipitation throughout the winter months.
Last year, these conditions resulted in almost record-breaking levels of snowfall at Whistler Blackcomb.
Skiers and snowboarders will also be offered new features and amenities at the resort during the forthcoming season, including the Whistler Blackcomb Live smartphone app, which allows users to track their runs, view trail maps and clock their maximum speed.
There will also be free wireless internet access at the Roundhouse and Rendezvous lodges, new features at the resort"s five terrain parks and other provisions available to guests.
Dave Brownlie, the resort"s president and chief operating officer, said: "With La Nina predictions suggesting another great season of snow and some exciting new developments on the mountains, we"re looking forward to the winter ahead.
"This season Whistler Blackcomb will continue to focus on incredible guest service including: the new Whistler Blackcomb Live, powered by TELUS mobile app, continued enhancements to the food and beverage service and a revitalisation of our snow school programmes."
