Cathay Pacific to launch premium economy service by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Cathay Pacific has announced plans to introduce a premium economy product in the second quarter of 2012.

The new offering will be available on all of the airline"s long-haul routes, including "ultra long-haul" flights to Europe and medium-haul services to Australia and the Middle East.

Chief executive John Slosar released a statement saying that the new product would represent a significant improvement over economy and give passengers value for the additional cost.

"The seat will be more like a regional business class seat. We"ll have great recline and plenty of leg space," he said.

"But it"s not just the seat - we"ll have an improved service as well. The meal service will be improved and little extras will leave anyone who chooses Cathay Pacific"s premium economy feeling they really got value for their money."

Mr Slosar also noted that premium economy products are now becoming standard throughout the airline industry.

The new Cathay Pacific offering will be rolled out across the carrier"s fleet at the same time as upgraded business class seats are installed.
