Returning for its fifth consecutive year, the Dine Out Lauderdale programme will run from 1 October to 10 November.

Three-course meals will be available for a fixed price of $35 (£21.70) at dozens of restaurants, including new additions Dapur Asian Tapas & Lounge, Grateful Palate and Market 17 in Fort Lauderdale and Bongo Cuban Cafe and Tatu at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood.

Other eateries taking part in the initiative include 15th Street Fisheries, Cafe Vico and China Grill at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina.

Nicki Grossman, president of the local convention and visitors bureau, said: "The world is your oyster during Dine Out Lauderdale with so many culinary hotspots to savour. It"s a foodie"s fantasy."

Holidaymakers visiting the Florida city can also explore the scenic seafront between Las Olas and Sunrise boulevards and check out local attractions such as the Museum of Discovery and Science.
