Outback Tourism Taking Off In New South Wales
Outback tourism "taking off in New South Wales" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The New South Wales (NSW) outback has become increasingly popular among travellers exploring Australia in recent years, the local tourism agency has revealed.
Glynn Jacobs, project manager at Outback NSW Tourism, said that visitor numbers in the area have been steadily increasing over the past four years.
The most recent figures suggest that guest numbers have climbed by 11%.
Highlighting some of the attractions and experiences on offer to travellers in the more remote parts of New South Wales, Ms Jacobs pointed out that many towns host events based around local horse races.
In Broken Hill, visitors can attend races held to celebrate St Patrick"s Day in March.
"Lightning Ridge has a wonderful festival over the long Easter weekend which has an arts and craft exhibition, horse races - on the only straight racetrack I have ever seen - and a rodeo," added Ms Jacobs.
Travellers can begin their tour of New South Wales by catching flights to Sydney and heading inland to explore the outback.
