Translator Helpline Launched For Travellers
Translator helpline launched for travellers by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers who find themselves in tricky situations in countries where they do not speak the language can now make use of a new telephone service that puts them in direct contact with translators.
Interpreter Live can be used for various purposes, from getting help in an emergency to making sense of menus or signposts.
Users of the service call a UK local access number to be connected to a relevant translator who can help them or act as a go-between in conversations with local people.
Former British Army bomb disposal officer Lee Mears decided to launch Interpreter Live after encountering language problems while serving in Kosovo, Oman, Iraq and Saudi Arabia and travelling through Mali, Congo and Angola.
"I"ve had first-hand experience with language barriers and cultural divides and wanted to offer a service that gives complete peace of mind for those visiting countries where they can"t speak the language," he said.
"It"s equally reassuring for the loved ones left behind by intrepid travellers, making the launch particularly timely for parents of soon-to-depart gap year backpackers."
The 24/7 service encompasses 200 languages and can be accessed via a pre-paid telephone card or an online account.
