Travellers Invited To Cook Islands Beaches
Travellers invited to Cook Islands" beaches by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers whose idea of luxury is a white-sand, sun-soaked beach lined by palm trees and washed by turquoise waters will find exactly what they are looking for in the Cook Islands, according to the local tourist board.
Holidaymakers can visit locations such as Aitutaki lagoon, which encompasses 20 small islands offering activities such as snorkelling and kitesurfing.
Two islands in the group, Moturaku and Rapota, will be the setting for the next series of UK reality television series Shipwrecked, which will be screened soon.
The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation also recommends Muri lagoon, on the south-eastern coast of the capital island Rarotonga.
At low tide, adventurous visitors can swim out from the kilometre-long arc of white sand to the four uninhabited islands opposite Muri beach.
Carmel Beattie, the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation"s chief executive officer, said: "It"s no surprise to those in the know that the Cook Islands" idyllic beaches cut it with the best of other exotic destinations
"Both Aitutaki lagoon and Muri lagoon, on Rarotonga, offer a perfect mixture of beautiful scenery, watersports and the vibrancy of Cook Islands culture."
Travellers can reach the destination by catching flights to Rarotonga with carriers such as Virgin Atlantic, British Airways or American Airlines.
