Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt "offering great value" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt are among the destinations proving popular among UK consumers going away for the August bank holiday weekend, partly as a result of their "great value", according to Abta.

The travel industry association predicted that 1.8m people will be heading overseas between today (26 August) and bank holiday Monday.

Spain remains the top destination - with the Balearics and the Costas on the mainland set to see an influx of British visitors - while Portugal and the Greek islands have also been attracting strong interest.

People making the most of the long weekend with a city break will be heading to locations like New York, Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam and Rome.

Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester airports will host the highest numbers of travellers catching flights overseas this weekend, with overall traffic across the three bases set to exceed 800,000 passengers.
