UK Travellers Making The Most Of Local Food And Drink
UK travellers "making the most of local food and drink" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Many Brits are taking full advantage of their holidays by indulging themselves with plenty of local food and drink, according to research by Churchill Travel Insurance.
A survey by the company revealed that the average holidaymaker spends £610 on meals and snacks during a fortnight abroad, splashing out more than £43 per person every day.
Britons spend nearly four hours a day enjoying meals during their breaks, according to the poll, while 45% think they eat more food than they would at home.
Indeed, nearly a quarter (23%) of respondents said they often indulge so much during their travels that they need to go on a health kick when they get home to shed their holiday weight.
Churchill Travel Insurance spokesperson Annette Fox said: "It seems that British travellers are making the most of the cuisine on offer in other countries while they are abroad.
"However, remember to check that the food is safe to eat if you"re eating away from your hotel, and be safe and know your limits when drinking alcohol."
