Air New Zealand to bring Dreamliner to Auckland by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Air New Zealand will bring the Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Auckland for the first time next month, meaning New Zealanders will be among the first people in the southern hemisphere to see the new aircraft.
The airline will host a test 787-8 at its engineering base at Auckland airport from 12 to 14 November.
Flying to New Zealand non-stop from Seattle, the Dreamliner will arrive at a time chosen to give local people the best chance of seeing the plane as it flies in.
Air New Zealand is the launch customer for the 787-9 model, which will have a greater range and seating capacity than the 787-8.
Rob Fyfe, the carrier"s chief executive officer, noted that the aircraft has the "exciting environmental advantage" of being able to carry up to 50% more cargo while using 20% less fuel than other planes of a similar size.
He added: "Once the 787-9 goes into service sometime in 2014 it will change how New Zealanders fly and how we bring the world to New Zealand. Its composite structure enables better cabin humidity and lower relative cabin altitude for a more comfortable flying experience."
Boeing recently completed the delivery of its first 787 Dreamliner to launch customer ANA.
