Brics Countries Fuelling Tourism Explosion
Brics countries fuelling "tourism explosion" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
The five nations collectively known as Brics countries - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - will be at the heart of an international tourism "explosion" over the coming years, according to World Travel Market (WTM).
A panel discussion exploring the importance of these economies will take place at the industry event in London on 9 November.
The session will be hosted by Stephen Sackur - presenter of BBC World"s news and current affairs programme HARDtalk - and attended by government and tourism representatives from all five Brics nations.
WTM chairman Fiona Jeffery said these countries have significant potential for the travel industry and could provide some major benefits for the global economy.
"Given sound political decisions and some good luck, the Brics economies together could become larger than those of the world"s six most developed countries in less than 40 years," she added.
Due to take place at ExCeL London from 7 to 10 November, WTM 2011 will also provide promotional opportunities for tourism agencies representing destinations all over the world, including Germany, Italy, South Korea and Abu Dhabi.
