Delta Airlines has launched new inflight entertainment and technology options for passengers as part of a $2bn (£1.3bn) investment in the passenger experience.
Among the introductions is Delta Connect, an online portal that will be exclusively available to customers accessing Wi-Fi connections during flights with the airline.
Furthermore, wireless movies and television on demand will be available to guests on Boeing 757-300 aircraft, while a more user-friendly design and a wider range of content choices have been added to Airbus A330 inflight entertainment systems.
Bob Kupbens, the carrier"s vice president of e-commerce, said: "Customer demand is evolving every day and Delta is ahead of the game, delivering on customer preferences as it relates to technology and innovation."
He went on to highlight the availability of Wi-Fi on nearly 800 aircraft and mobile applications as examples of the company"s innovations to meet passenger needs.
Delta serves more than 160m travellers every year and was named by Fortune magazine as the most admired airline worldwide for 2011.
