EU Entry To Boost Croatian Tourism
EU entry "to boost Croatian tourism" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Croatia"s scheduled accession to the European Union in 2013 is expected to provide a boost for the country"s travel industry.
Meri Matesic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, noted that the destination has already enjoyed growth in visitor numbers in recent years, particularly from the UK market.
Promotional efforts and improvements to facilities across the country have supported the development of the tourism industry and entry into the EU is expected to help the sector expand further.
"We"ve seen an increasing number of British tourists coming to Croatia every year, and so far we can say that for the first nine months [of 2011] Croatia overall has [had] an increase in visitors of 8%, with 4% from the UK," said Ms Matesic.
"We believe that EU membership can bring us more visitors and make their travel within Europe even easier."
The national tourist board recently appointed PR agency Rooster to boost its profile in the UK and Ireland and maximise the appeal of attractions such as the country"s 1,244 islands, beaches, heritage and cuisine.
