EasyJet to launch summer route from Luton to Crete by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Britons planning package holidays and other breaks on the Greek island of Crete next year will be able to fly to the destination with easyJet.
The airline has announced that it will operate weekly flights from Luton airport to Crete from 21 April 2012.
Passengers will have direct access to Heraklion, one of the main gateways to a popular holiday island that boasts mountains and scenic coastline encompassing secluded coves and beaches.
The destination is also home to the only palm tree forest beach in Europe, according to easyJet.
Hugh Aitken, the airline"s UK commercial manager, said: "Crete remains a huge draw to British holidaymakers and the addition of easyJet flights from Luton airport makes it even easier for travellers to visit this wonderful destination."
The carrier operates routes to a number of popular holiday destinations in Greece, with the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Kos, Zante, Kefalonia and Corfu also accessible to passengers, as well as the mainland cities of Athens and Thessaloniki.
