UK newspaper campaign promotes Caribbean holidays by Cheap Flights Booker UK

The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) has launched a five-day campaign aimed at readers of the Sunday Mirror and Daily Mirror newspapers in the UK.

Introduced in the Sunday Mirror on 9 October, the initiative is part of the organisation"s pre-promotional activity ahead of Caribbean Tourism Month 2011.

A number of accommodation chains and industry groups are taking part, including Almond Resorts, LaSource Grenada and the Dominican Republic Tourist Board.

British Airways is also participating in the campaign by offering a pair of free flights from the UK to the Caribbean every day.

CTO chief executive Hugh Riley said the organisation was "delighted" to be collaborating with such a large and influential newspaper publisher as Trinity Mirror Group.

He added: "The travel and tourism markets are becoming increasingly competitive and challenging and as such we"re aware of the need to find new methods, with more impact, to communicate the appeal of our destinations."

Travellers considering the Caribbean for a winter getaway over the coming months can choose from popular locations such as St Lucia, Antigua, Barbados and Jamaica.
