Anantara set for "rapid expansion" in Middle East by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas has revealed that it is on course for "rapid expansion" in the Middle East next year.

The company will open its first city property, the Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Yamm Lodge and Al Sahel Lodge on Sir Bani Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Anantara"s portfolio will include five establishments in Abu Dhabi by the second quarter of 2012.

David Garner, the chain"s regional sales director in the UAE, said the new developments are required in order to keep up with the growth of the city as a travel destination.

He also commented on the UK market, saying it will be "pivotal" to the success of the Abu Dhabi hotels and resorts.

"The aim is for Eastern Mangroves to become the preferred choice for UK customers and all our key source markets as an exclusive corporate and urban leisure destination experience in Abu Dhabi," added Mr Garner.

Anantara currently operates properties in countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the Maldives and will see new openings in China, Bali and other destinations this year.
