BA Moves Mauritius Flights To Gatwick
BA moves Mauritius flights to Gatwick by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British Airways has announced that its Mauritius flights will operate out of London Gatwick rather than Heathrow airport during the 2011-12 winter season.
The change is part of an initiative to boost the airline"s premium leisure operations at Gatwick, a campaign that has also included the recent opening of a terminal extension.
Designed to give passengers more control over their journey and improve customer service, the extension allows travellers to carry out certain tasks themselves, such as checking in, choosing seats and printing out luggage tags.
It will serve as the home for all BA flights at Gatwick.
Silla Maizey, the carrier"s director at the airport, said the aim is to turn the London base into a hub for "great high-end holiday destinations".
"Moving the Mauritius flight here helps us to strengthen this position as it will now sit alongside destinations such as the Maldives and the Caribbean," she added.
The airline also announced that return services from Mauritius will depart 12 hours later during the forthcoming winter season, giving travellers more time in their holiday destination.
