Croatia Set To Expand Port And Marina Capacity
Croatia set to expand port and marina capacity by Cheap Flights Booker UK
There will be more opportunities for cruise holidays and sailing trips along the coast of Croatia over the coming years as a result of a plan to expand the country"s port and marina capacity.
Nico Bulic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, revealed that a strategy is in place to double the number of vessels able to enter the marinas by 2020.
The initiative will include the construction of new facilities and the development of adequate infrastructure for ships, sailing boats and yachts.
"All ports will be converted, partly for locals and partly for foreigners," said Mr Bulic. "The strategy is there."
The tourist board director also revealed that there are plans to create capacity for larger ships in Dubrovnik, one of the leading cruise and summer holiday destinations along Croatia"s Adriatic coast.
Other cities in the region that have the capacity to host larger vessels include Split and Zadar, both of which offer a range of cultural and historical attractions.
