Emirates places biggest order in Boeing"s history by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Emirates has placed the single largest aircraft order in the history of plane manufacturer Boeing.
The airline has agreed to buy an additional 50 777-300 long-range jets, with about $18bn (£11.3bn) in list price.
Twenty 777-300 options were also included in the deal, meaning the total order of 70 aircraft had a value of $26bn.
Emirates" fleet already includes 95 Boeing 777s, making the carrier the world"s biggest user of the planes.
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of the airline group, said the new order marks another milestone for the company and underlines its strategy to expand its network of long-haul destinations.
He added: "The Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft plays a pivotal role in Emirates" development of a modern fleet to meet the demand for global air travel for the future."
Tim Clark, the carrier"s president, said that passengers can look forward to further innovations in aircraft comfort, entertainment and customer service.
