Etihad Airways reaches 50,000 fans on Facebook by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Etihad Airways is currently celebrating after accruing 50,000 fans on its Facebook page.

To mark the achievement, the airline is launching a competition giving one of its social media followers the opportunity to win 50,000 miles as part of its frequent flyer scheme.

The prize is enough for a business return ticket from Abu Dhabi to Larnaca or two economy flights from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad"s chief commercial officer, said the airline is "a people business" and is "delighted" to have reached the milestone of 50,000 Facebook followers.

He added: "Our fans are hugely important to us and our social media strategy will continue to be about engaging them - on the ground, in the air and online."

The carrier is planning a series of new offerings and innovations to boost its presence on the social networking website, including a "fan of the month" scheme, a guest affairs tab and a series of regular competitions and giveaways.
